Before you ask

Why only one product?

Because a second product is a second set of compromises, and we would rather make one lamp that has none. When the Axis One is finished being improved, we will think about a second object. We are not finished.

Can I really buy a single part?

Yes. Every part on the exploded view has its own number and its own price, from the $3 detail ring to the $96 head. Nothing is bonded, potted or glued, so anything comes apart with a 2.5 mm hex key.

Where is it made?

The aluminium and stainless work is done in Adelaide, South Australia. The glass is blown in England, the LED board is built in Japan, the iron base is cast in Castlemaine. Each part is made where that part is made best.

How bright is it, really?

Enough to light a desk for drawing or reading, not a whole room. 2700 K, dimmable from a soft glow to roughly 450 lumens by touching the head. CRI 97 means colours under it look like themselves.
